BZ4X Inspector Vehicles

Client: National Highways

About this build

In 2024, RVC completed the conversion of 51 fully electric Toyota bZ4X vehicles for National Highways, supporting the continued introduction of zero-emission vehicles into its operational fleet.

Delivered in collaboration with National Highways, Toyota and Steven Eagell Group, the project saw each bZ4X converted into a dedicated Inspector Vehicle, equipped with the specialist warning, communications and electrical systems required for day to day operational use.

Each vehicle received a comprehensive amber warning package, including a Code 3 12+ lightbar, additional Code 3 and Durite warning equipment and automatic tailgate warning-light activation. Telematics equipment and a load guard were also incorporated into the conversion.

To support the additional electrical equipment without placing unnecessary demand on the vehicle's main systems, RVC installed a dedicated 45Ah auxiliary battery and 30A DC-DC charging system.

Finished in full National Highways livery and signage, the completed fleet provided National Highways with a modern, fully electric platform for its Inspector teams and represented another significant step in the organisation's transition towards a lower-emission operational fleet.
